Description

CD138 (MI15) is a monoclonal antibody derived from a mouse. The antibody is produced by immunizing mice with the CD138 antigen (also known as syndecan-1), which is a cell surface glycoprotein. After immunization, hybridoma cells are
generated, and the antibody is purified for use in immunohistochemical and diagnostic applications. The clone of this antibody is MI15. This specific clone is widely used for detecting the CD138 antigen, which is a marker for plasma cells and is also expressed in some epithelial cells and certain tumors. MI15 is particularly useful in immunohistochemistry (IHC) for identifying plasma cells and for the diagnosis of diseases like multiple myeloma. The isotype of CD138 (MI15) is IgG1. IgG1 is a common isotype used in monoclonal antibodies, as it allows for efficient binding to antigens and is suitable for immunohistochemical applications.
