Studies have shown HSA to be an effective marker that may be used in a panel with CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen), CK7, AFP (Alpha Fetoprotein) and CD10 to aid in the differential diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma from cholangiocarcinoma and/or metastatic adenocarcinoma.
