Description
Napsin A is expressed in type II pneumocytes and lung and kidney adenocarcinomas.
Research indicates that the Napsin A Rabbit Antibody exhibits superior sensitivity (87%
vs. 64%) and higher specificity (94.3% vs. 76.1%) compared to TTF-1 for primary nonsmall
cell lung adenocarcinoma. Napsin A is positive in certain renal cell carcinomas and
demonstrates low expression in other neoplastic tissues, such as ovarian cancers, with
distinct staining patterns compared to primary lung cancer (granular cytoplasmic
staining). Comparative studies of Napsin A and SP-A reveal that Napsin A stains a
greater number of tumor cells and a higher percentage of lung adenocarcinomas.
